What is it

By using the online auction service, you can participate in online auctions without your physical presence using a computer.

The process of managing and conducting online auctions takes on certified Auction Officers.

Steps of Auction

In the manual you can find the specific steps that needs to be followed in order to sign up as a Candidate Bidder and participate in electronic auctions.

Sign up & Login for candidate bidders

For your participation as a bidder in electronic auctions using www.eauction.gr you need to sign up in the service.

Step 1: Sign up & Log in the electronic platform (e-auction)

A) Sign up with Greek VAT Number

The authentication service of the Independent Taxpayers Authority (TaxisNet) is used for users with Greek VAT, through which the user aubthorizes the service (www.eauction.gr) to obtain access to the basic Registry data (VAT Number, First Name, Last Name, Father Name, Mother Name) provided by tax registry of Taxis of the Ministry of Finance of the Ministry of Finance.

  1. The authentication service of the Independent Taxpayers Authority (TaxisNet) is used for users with Greek VAT, through which the user authorizes the service (www.eauction.gr) to obtain access to the basic Registry data (VAT Number, First Name, Last Name, Father Name, Mother Name) provided by tax registry of Taxis of the Ministry of Finance of the Ministry of Finance.
  2. After you are identified through TaxisNet, you fill in your contact information and the code that you wish your account to have in the Online Auction Services (www.eauction.gr) and you complete your registration.
  3. The account you created in the previous step remains inactive until you confirm your mobile phone via SMS. Upon completion of the previous step (Record), you go to the activation code sending page. By pressing the “Send” button, you are sent a code that you must enter in the corresponding field within 2 minutes of receiving the SMS to confirm your mobile and activate your account.
  4. Once you have activated your account, you can log in to the system using the input information you set up and submit requests to participate in online auctions.
B) Sign up without Greek VAT Number

If you have a non-Greek VAT number, you choose an auction that you would like to participate in and then enter your details. In order to complete your registration, you must send by post the documents that certify the validity of the information you have entered.

  1. You select an auction, so your subscription is sent for approval to the responsible auctioneer.
  2. Fill in the required fields on the registration form, and then you must post documents that confirm the validity of the information you have entered.
  3. After the person in charge of the auction has received and checked the documents you sent, you are informed by email about your registration approval to complete the activation process of your account
  4. The account you created in the previous step remains inactive until you confirm your mobile phone via SMS.   5. Once you have activated your account, you can log in to the system using the input information you set up and submit requests to participate in online auctions.

Step 2: Participation Request

To apply for a participant, you will need to login to the system using the input details you set up during your registration

  1. Once you log in to the system using the login information, you can immediately apply to participate in any auction. Alternatively, you can save your application and submit it later. In addition, you can create a list of my auctions you are interested in.
  2. Entering the Online Auction Service, you can search for the auction you are interested in based on:
      The date of their conduct    The first bid price    The name of the debtor
  3. Once you have chosen the auction you want, you must accept the terms of use and then submit your application. When submitting an application, you have the option to appoint an agent. The contact person authorized to do so is appointed as a contact person in the event of failure to find him or herself (e.g to receive the documents communicated to him in legal cases.) In the event that you do not appoint an agent, the counsel of the court of the place of execution of the auction.

The responsible Auction Officer has the obligation to check the validity of the application. You have the obligation to send by physical means (e.g by mail) the following supporting documents at the Auction Officer’s office:

  • Proof of Payment of the Participation Guarantee at the auction which:
    o is 30% of the first bid
    o is deposited exclusively on a special, unprofitable business account maintained by a bank employee at a Greek Banking
  • Power of Attorney (if required)
  • Legitimate Documents for Legal Entities (if required)
  • Legitimate Documents for Legal Entities (if required)

Participation Approval

Application approval by Auction officer
  • The responsible Auction Officer has the obligation to check the validity of the application.
  • After the Auction Officer checks the documentation, you will be informed by email about the status of your application.

Step 3: Auction Conduction

Once you’ve successfully passed all the previous steps, the auction will follow. In order to access the Auction Acceptance Screen, you need to confirm an additional security code through the mobile phone you have specified when registering. Below you can see a video that describes both the Auction Run Screen and the bidding process.
After completing the online auction, you can not submit new bids and the ranking shown in the Your screen is the final for the auction.
Along with your ranking, you will see the current value now corresponding to the award value and the history of the bids you submitted.
After the bidding procedure expires and in accordance with the applicable time limits as applicable, the Auction Officer shall draw up the award report awarding the award to the successful tenderer. As a bidder, you can contact the Auction Officer to get a copy of the award report.
If you are the successful tenderer, you may be informed by the Auction Officer of the procedure to be followed in order to pay the auction as well as the fee for the service.

Auction Award

If you are not the successful tenderer, you may also be informed by the Auction Officer of the refund procedure for the participation guarantee you have paid.
The bidder is obliged to pay the Property Transfer Tax to the Competent Tax Authority Office that owns the property within 5 business days of the auction.
The bidder is required to pay the auctioneer the remainder of the auction minus the amount of the Guarantee within 10 working days from the auction date.
The Auction Officer prepares the Auction Report whereby the bidder transfers the property to the relevant sub-registry / land registry.
